COMMITTEE REPORTS
FUNDRAISING
Golf Outing- Once again, Chairman Jim Murasko reminded everyone about the golf outing on June 10 at Newton Country Club. Flyers were distributed with information regarding the outing and an application form. The price for the day was kept at $150.00.
In addition to golfers the chamber will need volunteers (non-golfers) to help out that day.
This is a major fundraiser with the proceeds going to local scholarships. The bulk of our money comes from hole sponsors, golf cart sponsors, beverage cart sponsors, etc. Members are asked to find sponsors so we can meet our goals.
At the June meeting, we will be presenting the scholarships to area high school students.
OLD BUSINESS
The date and place of our September meeting has been confirmed. We gather at Cedar Crest on September 10th, in the active adult/general residence area.
NEW BUSINESS
ADJOURNMENT
A motion to adjourn the meeting at 1:15 pm was made by Howard Ball and seconded by Jim LaSala.
GUEST SPEAKER
Alex De Croce, NJ Assemblyman Legislative District 26, addressed issues important to local municipalities and businesses. Topics covered included proposed State of New Jersey budget cuts and tax hikes and their potential impact on commuters, schools, small business owners, retail growers and farmers. |
