Our guest speaker was Wayne Hammaker of Tri-Boro first Aid Squad.

Tri-Boro first aid has been in existence for 73 years. It is volunteer based.

Wayne spoke of the dedication of the first aid squad members. They currently provide services to area residents and will transport to most hospitals as well as hospitals in New York City. They receive some funding from the state, but depend mainly on their annual donation drives for funding. If interested in helping to support the Tri-Boro First Aid Squad just let us know and we will provide you with more information.

GENERAL MEETING
The general meeting of the Tri-Boro Area Chamber of Commerce was called to order by Jerry Vinci at 12:25 with a salute to the flag.  Four officers and three trustees were present.  

APPLICATIONS FOR MEMBERSHIP
No new applications received

APPROVAL OF MINUTES FROM THE NOVEMBER 9, 2011 MEETING
A motion to approve the minutes was made by Lucille Brule’ and seconded by
Lisa Bendel.

TREASURER’S REPORT
The Treasurer’s Report was read by Denise Brewster.
Checking Account -            $4,190.12
A motion was made by Bill Stanton to accept the Treasurer’s report and seconded by
Dave Warfield.

BILLS
Website Hosting fees for 2012 $159.00
Creative Safety Products – Ad for Officer Phil - $199.00
A motion was made by Jim LaSala  to pay the bills and seconded by Lucille Brule’

No new communications

COMMITTEE REPORTS

A Board of Trustees Meeting was held on 1/3/12 wherein the various committee chairs were selected.

Jim Murasko asked the members to provide ideas for the Fundraising Committee as the Chamber is trying to plan a very active year.

OLD BUSINESS
Jerry Vinci reminded attendees to take advantage of the member to member discounts available on our website www.triborochamber.org. 

He also encouraged members to visit the Tri-County Chamber site www.tricounty.org  for networking opportunities and various events. As a member of the Tri-County chamber all our members can participate in their events.

He also reminded everyone to bring promotional materials for networking to meetings to display on the table containing the name badges.

A Membership Survey was sent to all members via email and another copy was provided to all who attended the meeting today.  He encouraged everyone to respond so that the Chamber can fulfill the needs of its members.

NEW BUSINESS
2012 COMMITTEES
 The following committees along with their respective chairs have been formed:

1. The Membership committee will continue to be chaired by Bill Stanton
2. The Good & Welfare Committee will be chaired by Vivian and Jerry Vinci
3. The Scholarship Committee will be co-chaired by Bill Stanton and Lina Pagliarulo
4. The Nomination Committee will continue to be chaired by Brandon Ciercielli
5. The Election Committee will continue to be chaired by Brandon Ciercielli
6. The Arbitration Committee members will be determined by appointment and named on an as needed basis.
7. The Fundraising Committee will be chaired by Jim Murasko.
8. The Program & Publicity Committee will be chaired by Vivian Vinci
9. The Website Development Committee will serve the Chamber in the area of communication and sales.  (to be formed)

Jerry Vinci asked the members to come forward and provide help and ideas for the committee chairs.  Jim Murasko also requested help with fundraising as well as any ideas/functions that would help promote attendance and participation by the members.
                                                                                                                        
GUEST SPEAKER
Our guest speaker was Wayne Hammaker of the Tri-Boro First Aid Squad. This is the Squad’s 73rd year in volunteer service.  They currently provide services to area residents anywhere needed including New York City.  They offer transport services for non-ambulatory residents to and from doctor’s offices. They receive some funding from the state but depend mainly on their annual donation drives for funding. 

CHAMBER MEMBER SPOTLIGHT
Lisa Bendell of Lia Sophia spoke about her business as a Lia Sophia representative. Her group sells close to a million dollars of jewelry every month. The jewelry is guaranteed for life. The company offers a great opportunity to earn a terrific income while having fun doing so.

Vivian Vinci made a motion at 1:30 p.m. to adjourn the meeting.  It was seconded by Lucille Brule.
